Having not had an auto stop/start car before, it took a bit of getting used to.
Bmw auto start stop not working. I recently bought a bmw f30 and have been driving it around for 3 weeks now. Did anyone experience this when the original bmw agm batt was changed out wrongly to a non agm and then the start stop cannot work. Really got me worried as the workshop did this and now they are checking whats wrong.
If playback doesn't begin shortly, try restarting your device. This is because the voltage is not correct, either due to a bad battery, or a bad voltage regulator. When i press it, it does not disable the auto stop/start functionality, it does not click (and provide haptic feedback) like the other buttons, and it does not light up to show that auto stop/start has been disabled.
2021 bmw 430i [0.00] no longer can turn off auto start/stop. Most stop start probs are due to a low state of battery charge the 12v 90 amp hr is larger than most manufacturers fit as standerd so the car will start as normal with 60% charge, but usually the stop start mechanism requires pretty much a fully charged battery, if the car's used for short runs, or of couse, is 3 years old, then the battery must come under the spotlight. The buttons directly above it all seem to work perfectly.
I had noticed start stop was not working but put it down to the cold and wet, not producing the correct conditions. At the time of the stall start/stop was disengaged. Bmw auto start stop not working.
Greetings good people of pistonheads. If the car starts, then the battery is most likely dying, or you have a problem alternator. The car is coasting (manual transmission)
As many of the factors are not possible to monitor it may appear that the feature is not working. They have advised it was an engine management/chip problem and have carried out a software update under warranty. Warning came on 'battery charge very low please start engine'.
The idea is to conserve fuel. Now with my 2021 4 series, i have to turn it off every time i start the car. The car battery is being discharged too quickly.

If the battery does not have enough charge, it will not crank the engine or use any electrical components. So then i disconnected and reconnected (after about 10 seconds) just the start/stop lead by the battery terminal and *bingo* all back to. Any dme faults stored will disable the function.
So this time i disconnected the quick release battery terminal only. There are numerous vehicle parameters that are monitored as a part of the stop/start function to ensure the driving experience is not impacted. The auto stop/start button in my 2020 x5 m5.0i has stopped working.

4 days later i came back late at night, luckily car started ok and i got home without further warnings. Your bmw instrument cluster may display a symbol stating ready, which means the car is ready to start the engine automatically. Can i ask the dealership to recode it or does anyone know an option setting to get it remember the last setting to stay off?

Pressing it will illuminate a led light indicating that. Horrible system, i hate it. Even if say a glow plug fault is stored then the stop start won't work.
They did acknowledge that they change the wrong battery (non agm) but not sure why the start stop cannot work. Videos you watch may be. Here’s something not everyone knows.
Lots of things to prevent the stop start working, but the battery is usually the main issue. You either have an issue with the battery or the fuse. It is often assisted by an intelligent battery management system (bms), which is, so to speak, the brain of the car’s electronics.
